Some iffy weather during the afternoon probably deterred some but for the event it was dry though dull with a little breeze.
The previous course record for the UC31 (our current 10 course) did belong to Will Salter. Will Baldie held it briefly on a 20:21 but lost out to his sibling this week as Jack Baldie pushed it under 20 minutes. Completing a 10-mile distance in 19 minutes and 11 seconds requires an average speed of 31.28 mph, which equates to an incredibly fast pace of 1 minute and 55 seconds per mile.
