After we were rained off last week it looked as though it might be a repeat this week. But for those of an optimistic disposition tonight was your night.
At 6;30 Martin reported heavy rain at Ash whilst the HQ was dry. By 6:45 the strong winds were blowing drizzle through Marston Magna, quickly followed by a heavy shower. That passed as swifty as it arrived and by the time the riders had reached the start there were blue skies and virtually no wind. The road to Queen Camel was wet but that was very localised and the riders were soon back on dry tarmac.
Will Salter had been up riding on the track for most of the day but stopped off on his way home and put in the fastest time of the evening. Giles White snuck in under the 24 minute mark, whilst Mark Fisher and Steve Way battled it out for third place.
Lucia only made it as far as Queen Camel. I hope you are alright Lucia, hopefully no more than a few grazes and dented pride.
Last of the 7pm starts next week for the 5 miler.
